There seemed to be an abundance of ruins in the Safari Zone now. Were space-time distortions to thank? Had they always been there? To what degree were they culturally relevant? Remiel was eager to try and find out.

Naturally, such an abundance of ruins attracted certain types of Pokémon: the type that Remiel was used to encountering during his trips as an archaeologist. The FROSLASS traveling beside him was used to these types as well. She would guard him as they explored the forests.

The first 'ruin' Remiel comes across is, in fact, not a ruin at all. Or, at the very least, not in the conventional sense of the word. STONJOURNER had always been a bit of a mystery in archaeological circles.

The one he'd encountered now didn't seem to take kindly to having a sample taken. It attempted to BODY SLAM Remiel, who thankfully dove out of the way just in time to avoid being squashed. Protective of her master, Hanna is quick to follow up with a BLIZZARD that FREEZES the Stonjourner completely.

Afterward, catching it with a Luxury Ball is as simple as walking up to it and tapping it.

The BALTOY spins and spins and spins in the corner of the room as Remiel continues his work. It makes him dizzy just looking at it. There's plenty of space in the ruin for it to remain undisturbed, however. At least until the archaeologist wishes to read the hieroglyphics behind it.

Remiel places his hands on his hips and sighs as he stares at it. Hanna offers to DRAIN KISS the Baltoy to stop its spinning, but the prince stops her just before she does so. Instead, he simply packs up and leaves the Baltoy to enjoy its spinning.

His next stretch of on-field research wouldn't go as smoothly as the last. This time, a SIGILYPH patrolled the skies above the ruins. When it caught sight of the archaeologist and his Froslass, it would release a strange warbling cry before unleashing an AIR CUTTER at them.

Diving behind a pillar, Remiel would only narrowly avoid the strike. Hanna, in the meantime, took the blow before unleashing a BLIZZARD. Thankfully, this would serve in FREEZING the Sigilyph and sending it crashing down into the ground below.

After finding it unconscious within a field of shattered ice, Remiel would produce an empty Luxury Ball and capture the Sigilyph.

The failed husks of attempted cocoons litter the tree branches above them in a great multitude. Its culprit? A rather feisty LARVESTA that glares at them a couple of meters away. Frustrated by these failed attempts, and the general conditions that were responsible for them, she charges at Remiel and his Froslass in full FLAME WHEEL.

Unfortunately, Hanna's attempts at evasion are unsuccessful. The Froslass is run down and Remiel is forced to cast a quick teleport to evade the attack himself. Rather than lay down and take another hit, however, Hanna swiftly gets back up before casting a HEX on the Larvesta. This is done with a powerful degree of vengeance and succeeds in rendering the Larvesta unconscious.

Afterward, Remiel produces an empty Luxury Ball from his pack and captures it.

They come across a secluded lake deep within the wilds of the Safari Zone. Well... it's a pond, really. And it's littered with the half-submerged ruins of a temple. At first glance, there doesn't appear to be a creature in sight...

Then they see it.

A lone RELICANTH has somehow managed to survive within the isolated pond. Remiel is a bit of a collector of Relicanth. Not wanting to harm it, he sends his Froslass into the water to FREEZE it. Eventually, it floats up to the surface encased in ice. Capturing it with an empty Luxury Ball afterward is simple enough.
